Americans also haven’t needed a passport to travel to many countries closest to them – Canada and Mexico, or to the Caribbean. Another thing that many Europeans who use this tired old argument about how Americans never travel, don’t care about the world outside the US etc….We on average get only 2 weeks vacation a year. How much of the world would they see given the distance and cost in that time frame? I would figure that a “smart” person could figure out the obvious impediments. Americans work several hundred more hours a year than any other westernized country.

But it’s easier to slap an inaccurate label on an entire country. Not smart …easy.
